Old Dreams

The following dream was posted in another blog (not sure why) so I am adding it here. I need to continue adding to this blog. Too many strange dreams to keep all to myself…lol.

Circles Of Confusion - Original date of dream: March 12, 2012

When I wake up and actually remember a dream, I try to write it down as soon as possible. I love dissecting the various elements in the dream and try to figure out what my subconscience is trying to tell me.

Chris and I were heading over to his sister's house. They were having a new house built after the fire. Most of it was complete except for the painting, the furnishings, and some minor touch-ups. We were there to give them something but for the life of me I couldn't remember what it was. No one was in the house when we got there. As we stood in their kitchen, looking out the window, we notice a large tractor trailer sitting in their backyard with all the doors open, exposing all of the furnishings and such that they purchased. Although they lived in the country, I didn't like the idea that anyone could come by and loot them. So we hung out for a bit. Not too long after, we saw some construction workers come by and they started to load the stuff into the house.

As we watched them carry sofas and chairs, Chris' parents came by to keep an eye on everything. They said it was nice to see us here and asked us what we were doing. I looked into his mother's eyes and said "I have no idea." We all laughed like a bunch of idiots and just stood there. Somehow, while we were laughing, the house turned into some strange theatre. We were standing in the lobby watching hundreds of people walking in every direction. We continued to laugh and Chris' mom said "Well, that was a wonderful show. I had a great time!" I, of course, couldn't remember anything about a show so I just continued to laugh. We then said our farewells and headed towards the parking lot.

Halfway to our car I stopped and told them that I forgot my purse in the theatre. I couldn't see Chris at the time but I knew that he would wait for me by the car. I ran back to the front entrance but some woman would not let me in unless I had a ticket. I told her I was just in the theatre and I forgot my purse in there. She pointed to another set of doors and instructed me to speak to someone there.

As I walked through the doors, I found myself backstage with the cast of some Asian dance performance. All I could notice was a rainbow of vibrant costumes swirling in front of my eyes. But all I could think about was my purse. Everyone I asked pointed me to a different door and I kept thinking to myself, " This is not right. I'm further from where I should be."

Door after door, one long hallway after another, I felt as though I walked through the entire theatre. As I approached another door, I heard voices, laughter, clapping. I thought I came full circle and was about to enter the lobby again when all of a sudden I found myself in the middle of the audience, watching the Asian dance show. I looked around and realized that the theatre was almost empty. Where was everyone? A man in a tux noticed the lost look on my face and when I saw he was looking at me in my sequined dress (don't ask me how I got the dress), I started to walk towards him.

The time it took me to make my way to him, I realized his expression never changed. I couldn't tell if he was a pervert or just really bored. "Excuse me," I sheepishly asked. "How do you get out of this place?" His eyes never blinked as he pointed to a set of spiral stairs behind me. "Thanks," I quickly said as I spun around and headed for the stairs. As soon as I got to the top, I found myself in a lounge area. Very dark, except for a few candles on the tables and a large screen TV with some boring game on. I couldn't believe what was happening. I started to feel as if I was forever stuck in this crazy theatre. I looked across the room and I saw the same man in the tux, sitting there, staring at me. How the hell did he beat me to the room? I walked over to him again, this time I was really annoyed. I noticed that his expression changed a bit. He had a small smirk on his face. Just as I was about to rip into him he said, "There are better was to spend our time." "What do you mean?" I looked at him as if I was open to anything. "Well, how about skin to skin dancing?"

Huh?

I didn't know how to respond to that. All I could do was walk back to the spiral staircase and get as far away from this man as possible. Just as I took the first step on the stairs, I turned to him and said, "If I was a different woman, I would take you up on your offer." And then I was gone. I really don't now what I was thinking.

I found myself back in the lobby and I was relieved to be near the parking lot. At this point I didn't care about my purse anymore. I just wanted to get home. Just as I was approaching the exit, I noticed a woman handing my purse to the bartender. I ran over and screamed, "That's my purse!!!" The bartender smiled and handed it to me. I was so happy and so tired, I couldn't wait to get home.

When I walked out to the parking lot, I was stunned. There wasn't a single car there. He left me! He didn't even wait for me! I was so hurt. Then I realized that neither one of us had a cell phone and there was no way to call him. I had to try and reach his parents. Maybe they were willing to come and pick me up. I looked around to find a pay phone. Of course, the only one I could see was in the theatre. I noticed through the window there there was a long hallway with four pay phones. At least they were close by but the last thing I wanted was to go back into that building. I reluctantly made my way back as I filtered through my purse looking for change. I only came up with a toonie and the phones only took quarters. Great.

As I walked down the hall, I noticed a row of change machines sorting out the money. Except all the money was outside of the machines, in seperate rows, open to the public. I looked at my toonie and then to the rows of change and thought I could just make an even exchange for some quarters. I looked around to see if anyone was looking at me and I notice a security gaurd standing against the window. I walked up to him and in my sweetest voice asked, "Would it be possible to change this toonie into eight quarters?" "No," he said, without hesitation. I looked at him, all confused, and he tried to stare me down but he couldn't handle my piercing eyes and he turned around and headed towards a group of men up against the wall being arrested. "Are you kidding me?"

I woke up after that, completely confused.
